Sometimes when speaking to customers, they are unable to read the tire size on the side of the tire; The tire may be worn beyond the recommended minimal outside diameter (OD), or the tire may have been damaged and it is no longer readable.
It is not uncommon for a worn tire to begin to degrade in both performance/ride and appearance. How do we know when tires need to be replaced? Or when has a tire finally worn out and now poses either a potential safety hazard or is causing performance problems?
The Pit Stop Line is an orange strip which appears approximately 100 hours before the tires need to be replaced. Within PS1000, the Pit Stop Line ensures the tire is only changed when worn out, avoiding to replace it too early and risk spending too much, or replace it too late and risk machine and operator safety.
Pressing solid tires is not difficult as long as you have the right tools and the experience to safely press solid tires. Of course, incorrect procedures can lead to serious injury of the operator, the industrial press, the new tire or the expensive forklift wheel. 200 tons of pressure is very unforgiving.
